A hybrid animal occurs when parents from two different (but usually closely related) species are able to produce offspring. The hybrid offspring of two different species are typically infertile so not able to reproduce.
The best known hybrids are mules (cross between a female horse and a male donkey), and hinnies (a cross between a female donkey and a male horse). The list of others is long: Liger (tiger & lion); leopon (leopard and lioness); Toyger (Bengal & tabby cat); Cheetoh (Bengal & ocicat) ; Grolar (Polar & brown bear); Zebroid (Zebra & any other equine); Coywolf (Coyote & wolf); Wholphin; (killer whale & bottlenose dolphin); Narluga (Narwal & beluga whale); Cama (Camel & llama); Beefalo (Buffalo & cow); Dzo (Cow & wild yak); Zubron (Cow & European bison); Geep (Goat & sheep) to name a few.
